Rapid Data Generation (RDG) is a High Level Task (HLT) that moves modeling and simulation (M&S) data requirements and issues into the broader context of the DoD Net Centric Data Strategy and fulfills its goal to make data visible, accessible, and trusted.
To accomplish this, RDG will address both policy and technical capability gaps. First, RDG will produce an Enterprise Business Plan and Business Framework based on a sustainable five-year investment strategy that establishes the governance and policy needed to achieve an effective enterprise data solution across the Department.
Next, RDG will develop a Common Data Production Environment that leverages existing data repositories using a Service Oriented Architecture to provide simulation-ready data to the Service Components and Communities enabled by M&S.
The capability to rapidly locate and translate authoritative source data and compile these data into correlated, simulation-ready formats, directly supports the DoD M&S Goals of interoperability and reuse.
RDG will address the following data types:
- Order of Battle Data
- Geospatial Data
- Logistics Data
- Command and Control Data
