Defense Modeling and Simulation Exhibited on Capitol Hill: June 23, 2011

The Department of Defense (DoD) Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office (M&SCO) participated at the 2011 Capitol Hill Modeling and Simulation Exhibition, Thursday, June 23, at the Rayburn Building in Washington, D.C.

"This was a tremendous opportunity for DoD to share with Members of Congress and their staff the Department's ongoing efforts that enable the M&S Enterprise," said Mr. Jesse Citizen, M&SCO's Director. The M&SCO is the Department's focal point for coordinating all matters related to the DoD M&S Enterprise.

"Modeling and simulation not only increases operational readiness but also saves money and time which equates to being a pure combat multiplier for the Warfighter," said Citizen. "The DoD M&SCO was pleased to participate at the expo this year to demonstrate the modeling and simulation capabilities available to Defense Department personnel."

"The expo was a great opportunity to discuss our current M&S Enterprise investments - in tools, data, and services - that are advancing the current state of M&S capabilities and an equally great opportunity for gaining insights into other DoD, federal, industry and academic M&S capabilities, challenges, and strategies," said Mr. John Diem, M&SCO's Deputy Director.

The M&SCO provided an overview of how the Department's M&S management structure guides and influences spending on interoperable and reusable M&S tools, data and services that contribute to a trained, equipped, and ready force. Information on other Web-based M&S tools for M&S knowledge management and workforce development was also available at the M&S booth.
