DoDD 5134.01, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (USD(AT&L), April 1, 2008
Assigns modeling and simulation responsibilities to the former Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (USD(AT&L)). The Office of the USD(AT&L) was split by Congressional mandate in February 2018 into the USD for Research and Engineering (USD(R&E)) and USD for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S)). M&S responsibilities and the DMSCO were assigned to the Office of the USD(R&E). The USD(AT&L) charter will remain posted for reference until the charter for the USD(R&E) is published.
